TV3 Ghana has posted a glimpse of the President’s remarks on Aisha Huang’s deportation. It is important to note that the president made the remarks during his two-day tour in the Volta Region.
Interestingly, the President has been quoted as saying that there is uncertainty about whether or not Aisha Huang was deported or not.
Is the President not supposed to have been provided with all security details? Is the “2021 African of the year award recipient” not on top of the issues surrounding Aisha Huang’s deportation?
Why has Nana Addo not provided an exact response on whether Aisha Huang was deported or not? Was the President’s response a tactical one or made out of security precautions?
One thing that the President also stated was the fact that his administration had made strides or progress in stiffening the sentences for engaging in illegal mining from lighter sentences to a minimum of 15 years.
Many Ghanaians have reacted to the post on Nana Addo’s comments about Aisha Huang’s deportation.
Whilst some Ghanaians have expressed extreme trust in the leadership of Nana Addo because his security officials might not have yet released sufficient information to him.
Other citizens have provided interesting reactions to the ongoing discussion.
What do you make of the comments quoted to have been made by President Nana Addo? Based on the public discussions on Aisha Huang, is there any cause for worry? Has the fight against illegal mining been won already?
