Dede Ayew And Jordan Ayew: Are They Needed For 2022 FIFA World Cup As Otto Addo Gives Them A Chance

Otto Addo continues to rely on the services of Dede Ayew and Jordan Ayew after taking over the Black Stars of Ghana. Dede Ayew and Jordan Ayew are part of Black Stars squad for the Brazil and Nicaragua friendlies.

Jordan Ayew was part of the players that eliminated Nigeria in the final round of World Cup qualifiers. Against Nigeria at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, Jordan Ayew, was subjected to hosts of jeers from the home fans but Otto Addo jumped to his defence despite pulling him out of the game. Black Stars head coach elucidated that the Crystal Palace forward played according to instructions and that was the utmost target in the epic clash.

Fast forward, Jordan Ayew, 30, has had the opportunity of playing regularly for Crystal Palace in the English top flight. Having featured in six games in the new season, Jordan Ayew is yet to either score or assist. With his inclusion into the latest squad, he may offer something different for the head coach as he was listed under the wingers category. Jordan Ayew, on many occasions, has played as a lead striker for Ghana and his role may have changed under Otto Addo.

Dede Ayew, 32, was not part of the squad that played against Nigeria due to suspension. Otto Addo included his name in the new squad as a midfielder. As the reigning captain of Black Stars, he was able to find the back of the net during the qualifiers.

Dede Ayew and his club Al Sadd are struggling in the Qatar Star League as he has scored two goals and laid an assist after six games into the new season. Dede Ayew on record does not play as a striker but his brilliance for goals has carved an enviable note for him.

Otto Addo could have another plan for him as he comes into the list of players for September friendlies.
