The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has suspended Dare Kadiri, a sitting member of the state House of Assembly, amid claims of anti-party activity.
The leadership of Ward II in Ijebu North Local Government Area suspended Kadiri, a former Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, indefinitely on Sunday after accusing him of working against the governor Dapo Abiodun’s campaign for a second term in the general elections of 2023.
The suspension was affirmed by the Ward Congress at a meeting held on Sunday. The letter was jointly signed by the General Secretary and the Councillor who represents the ward, Olanrewaju Abiodun and Sobonojo Adeniyi, respectively.
The party leaders accused Kadiri of associating with the opposition and promising to work against Abiodun’s reelection, among other things.

Olakunle Oluomo, the Assembly Speaker, was detained last week by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and Kadiri was suspected of being at the root of his problems prior to his suspension (EFCC).
Recently, Governor Abiodun’s opponent, Ladi Adebutu, was recently hosted by the suspended lawmaker, and he promised not to support Abiodun’s reelection.
According to the letter, 19 of the 27 Exco members reportedly voted unanimously in favour of the suspension of Hon. Oluwadare Kadiri (Mabaindefinite) from the Ward II APC.
