Dr. Peter Boamah Otukunor, current deputy general secretary for the NDC has dropped another revelation about his ambition to become the party’s general secretary.
In an interview on Angel FM this morning, Otukunor made it clear that he will only contest for the position of a general secretary if his boss(Asiedu Nketia) goes for another position or does not go for the same position as General secretary. He added that Johnson Asiedu Nketia has already declared that he will aspire for a different position, which is the party chairman position.
For this reason, Dr. Peter Boamah Otukunor has made it clear that he will surely be the next general secretary of the party. He challenged the host of the morning show on Angel FM that what he is saying will surely come to pass. According to him, he will be the party’s general secretary because he deserves it.
“If God permits and if the nominations in the party are opened and if my boss(Asiedu Nketia) does not take forms for the general secretary position, then I will be the next secretary for the party. It is subject to what Asiedu Nketia will do. I won’t contest him if he takes the position. But he has already told me that he will not contest for the same position again. So mark it on the wall, the next time I enter your studio, I will be the NDC’s general secretary” he said

The National Democratic Congress will soon go on primaries to elect their executives. The position that will be much competitive will be the National Chairmanship position. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, current general secretary of the party will be contesting with Ofosu Ampofo, incumbent Chairman. Ofosu Ampofo has also made it clear to the public that he will retain his seat the party chairman. He added that he is not afraid of any contest even if the competitor is Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
Otukunor seems to have a clear chance to become the party’s general secretary. Honestly speaking, he has served as the deputy general secretary of the party for long and it is time to go higher. He recently bagged a doctorate degree in Agric Economics and Policy at the University of Ghana.
