Controversial Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall trailblazer, Shatta Wale born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr has announced a media tour in Nigeria.
Though after unveiling the flyer for the tour on his various social media pages, he rebutted suggestions that he is going to Nigeria for promotion, it is the paramount reason.
“I said media tour, not promo tour!
I am only traveling with my best friend to go and do oil research and u ppl are complaining 😂😂ok continue 😂😂”
The date and time for the tour have not been disclosed and the activities he is going to execute aren’t known yet but many believe it will entail performances (shows), radio, and television interviews.
It’s been organized ahead of his long-standing studio album ‘Gift of God’ which is slated to be released on October 17, 2022.
Meanwhile, fans have advised him to make sure he has an escort of tight security guiding him when touring because of his numerous insults on Nigerians.
An instant is his lingering feuds with Nigerian artistes, Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy. He did threw a shade at Davido when he bought a new Roll Royce, saying that the singer was living off his father’s wealth instead of hustling from bottom to the top like himself.
In 2021, the musician in a viral-video rant that: “I don’t need Nigeria promotion for anything. If Nigerians say they won’t promote Shatta Wale.. I don’t need Nigeria’s promotion for anything.” At the time, Wale said his works were self-evident because “people have eyes and they can see.”
In a tweet dated Monday, 27 December 2021, Wale also said: “The difference between your [favourite Ghanaian] artistes and me is that I don’t fly to Nigeria to do promos because I don’t need it”.
“I am your Gari, I don’t need an advertisement. It’s natural, bro. You can’t fight the universe. You will fail. Ask about me. #GodlsHere.”
In November 2017, he released a diss song to Wizkid in which he indicated that he doesn’t see as a superstar.
