The kind of corruption going on at Tema and Takoradi Habour/port is beyond imagination and today the host of “Onua Maakye Program” Captain Smart has revealed another huge amount of money the government is losing everyday at the ports.
Captain speaking this morning indicated that until corruption at the Tema Habour and Takoradi Habour will stop he will not rest. He revealed that Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) is doing a great job to eliminate corruption and money stolen at the ports but the management is not ready to allow them to do their job because they are afraid of being caught.
He further revealed that the government is losing 307 million dollars everyday at the port due to corruption and 1 billion Ghana cedi on confiscated cars. More than 8 ECOWAS countries clear their goods at the port but most of the money is been stolen by the customs officers and the government appointees who are working at the port. In Bawumia’s speech, he mentioned the government loses 145 million dollars everyday at the ports and the initiative paperless will help eliminate the corruption at the port but it is worst now since the authorities are not in agreement with SML to do their job.
