Johnny Hughes is one of the popular broadcast Journalists in the country. Johnny’s editorial on his Morning show is one of the most watched as he does not cease to amaze the viewers.
On Tuesday, 9th August 2022, Johnny Hughes made some comments about the current President and the NPP government. His comments seem to delve into the whims and caprices of why Nana Addo has not been the best amongst successive governments.
According to Johnny Hughes, he expected Nana Addo to deliver on his promises but the opposite is the case.
He explained that Nana Addo was believed to be the promised Messiah for the country but he has failed to even outperform the leadership of Jerry John Rawlings, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, and John Mahama.
He ranked Nana Addo as the least performing amongst all the other Presidents. Johnny also indicated that he is disappointed about how Nana is thinking about the next elections when his priority should be to fix roads and enhance the standard of living.
He asked why Nana Addo has now started cutting sods when his focus should be on how to make sure the basic needs of ordinary citizens are fulfilled. Johnny asked the President to stop talking and get into action and that he should concentrate on his mandate than campaign for the next NPP leadership.
The Journalist also indicated that the President’s refusal to reshuffle his appointees smacks of poor leadership due to how some officials have failed to achieve the key performance indicators that they were accorded.
For Johnny to ask the President not to show concern about his party’s chances of ruling the country again is unfair. How does Johnny Hughes expect the President who had received support from his Party to now become indifferent about the Party when he might be a cause of why many electorates may decide to vote against the party?
Would it be out of place for Johnny Hughes to apologize to the first gentleman of the country? What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion? Has Johnny Hughes not gone too far?
