The 2022/2023 season will surely be a season which will see top clubs in Europe major leagues compete for the European titles available and also gun for their league title and other trophies.
Some of these teams have already gotten the motivation they need,as they head into the new season with a trophy, which is more than enough motivation for any club planning to add more silverware to their trophy cabinet.
This weekend was full of club football,as a few top players made their official debuts for their new clubs.
In the same vein,those clubs won a trophy on their first outing of the season.
Here are four clubs in which their new signings won a trophy on their first official game playing for the club;
1. Arsenal
Gabriel Jesus,Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos,Matt Turner and Kevin Zinchenko were all on the squad list as the Gunners defeated Sevilla FC 6-0 at the Emirates Stadium to win the European Emirates Stadium Cup.
A hat-trick from Gabriel Jesus,a brace from Bukayo Saka and a goal from Sambi Lokonga were all Mikel Arteta’s men needed to cruise to a 6-0 victory at the weekend.
The club’s five summer signings also got their first official trophy with the club ahead of the new season.
2. Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp’s summer signings, Ramsay,Darwin Núñez and Fabio Carvalho all got a medal each as the Merseysiders blew away Manchester City at the Kings Power Stadium to win the FA Community Shield over the weekend.
The club’s €100 million signing Darwin Núñez shut the mouth of the haters as he scored a late crucial goal to win the game for the Reds,on his official debut against such a formidable opponent as Manchester City.
3. Bayern Munich
Sadio Mane, Matthijs De Ligt,Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazroui all made appearances in the Bayern Munich’s 5-3 thumping of RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup final,as the new boys of the team got their first trophy with the club.
Sadio Mane particularly scored the second goal of the game for the Bundesliga giants in the 32nd minute of the game,his first for Bayern Munich and hopefully the first of many.
4. PSV Eindhoven
The duo of Luuk de Jong and Xavi Simons got their first trophy with their new club PSV Eindhoven during the weekend,with the latter scoring PSV’s fifth goal of the game to hand them a 5-3 victory over reigning Eredivisie Champions,AFC Ajax.
These former FC Barcelona players took off to a perfect start in life at Amsterdam, Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven as they won the Johan Cruijff Schaal, ditching AFC Ajax in the process.
