Chelsea have started exploring other options after recording another failure in their endeavors to sign Jules Kounde this summer. The West Londoner has been rejected by many Players this summer and the inability to complete the signing of Jules Kounde from Sevilla has been added to the long list of Failures that Chelsea has recorded this summer.
According To Evening Standard, a UK Sport Publication, Chelsea have turned their attention to Inter Milan to sign Milan Skriniar and Demzel Dumfries. PSG have already made move to sign Milan Skriniar this summer but the Parisians couldn’t meet Inter Milan’s valuation of the Slovakian Defender which is around £60million.
For Demzel Dumfries, Inter Milan have slammed the price tag of €40million, an equivalent of £34million, on the Dutchman who produced 5 goals and 4 assists in 33 Serie A appearances last season.
Going after Denzel Dumfries seems like Chelsea is moving off the road. Thomas Tuchel has told the new owners that he needs another Central-back and a wing-back this summer, and one would think that Chelsea is moving in the right direction with their interest in Demzel Dumfries but they are not.
Getting a wing-back will allow Chelsea to avoid the situation of last season when they had to struggle after Ben Chilwell and Reece James both sustained an Injury but, Chelsea has more pressing concerns.
The Blues should be looking to complete the work on the defense by signing a Central-back and they should be working towards getting a right Winger or a Number 9.
It’s also worthy of note that Chelsea can spend the money to get Denzel Dumfries elsewhere. There’s Josko Gvardiol who’s a great Defender that Chelsea can get for £40million instead of paying £34million for Demzel Dumfries so that the Dutchman can come and sit on the Bench while watching Reece James playing in the right wing-back.
Chelsea needs Josko Gvardiol more than they need Denzel Dumfries. The Croatian National is a ball-playing Defender that isn’t afraid of stepping into the Midfield.
He was also the Centre-back that had the highest number of dribbles in the Europe last season. He recorded more dribbles than Jules Kounde and Kalidou Koulibaly. That’s the Player that Chelsea should be going after.
