High Cost Of Living: IMF Finally Reacts To The Ghana Economic Crisis

The International Monetary Fund has recently done the unexpected after finally taking the privilege to ‘spit out the bitter truth about the current economic debt saga in the country under President Akufo Addo’s administration which has been a sad moment for Ghana as it was announced that the economic crisis in Ghana is worse than expected.

After a one-week observation and concluding initial engagements in Ghana, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) team revealed that, the Covid pandemic has undoubtedly seen a worsening of the country’s fiscal and debt situation which has resulted in a higher cost of living in the country as well, they emphasised that it’s not only Ghana that is facing this challenge but even all African counties are in such crisis.

This simply implies that the debt rate of Ghana under President Akufo Addo has worsened over the years and it would take a huge turn for IMF to bail Ghana out of its current economic struggles as stated by the institution ,Ghanaians after getting the news also got in the act after much of them threw their focus on the vise president Excellence Mahamudu Bawumia .
