Aduana Stars Midfielder, Emmanuel Akuoku has expressed reasons for retirement from active football career after the just ended 2021/2022 premier league season.
Akuoku, who joined Aduana Stars in 2008 during their Division One campaign and quickly gained promotion to the elite football, has cited family reasons as to his retirement from footballing career.
“I decided with my family to bring down the curtains of my footballing career after the season comes to an end.
I don’t get to spend enough time with my family and after the demise of both my mum and dad, It has always been my wife who takes the kids to school, up and down. So I decided so call it a quit to have time for my family”.
“Mostly when I talk with my kids, they always complain about my absence.
With my job, I only gets to settle with my family during football recess or when the kids are on vacation”.
Akuoku, twice won the Ghana Premier League with Aduana Stars in 2009/2010 and 2016/2017 season’s respectively and has earned call-ups to both Local Black Stars and Black Meteors squad.
