As the title says we will begin with Eddie Nketiah. For Eddie Nketiah I can say that we could get him to confirm his switch to Ghana. According to reports he has already acquired his passport and has gone through all the paperwork and is pending approval from FIFA. Meaning if the approval comes this week we may get him in the Black Stars of Ghana. Don’t forget that Coach Otto Addo said that he is expecting two or three players to confirm their nationality switch this week. It is highly possible for Eddie Nketiah to be one of those people. source
The second person here is Tariq Lamptey. I have brought you updates that he is switching nationality as he came to Ghana to go through all those processes. It is being reported that he is also waiting for FIFA to approve the switch for him to become a Black Stars player.
The next on the list is Inaki Williams. The Inaki Williams situation is a little bit dicey. It does not mean he will not play but it is also not guaranteed that he will play. As for his brother Nico Williams, I currently doubt that he will join for now.
I will continue with Ansgar Knauff. He plays for Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga as a loanee from Dortmund. He was coached by Otto Addo and had good contact with him. For him, it is likely that he is waiting for an opportunity to play for the German National Team and if it is not possible he will consider the Black Stars. Reports were that the coach had seen him to talk about a switch but nothing has been confirmed yet.
For Hudson Odoi, he has to wait till November before he can play for Ghana.
Moving on to Stephan Ambrosius, he is a player who plays SV Hamburger in the Bundesliga 2 and the coach really admires him for his height. He performs okay for his club. He has denied a callup to play the Black Stars of Ghana in 2021 when he was called by the then coach CK Akonnor and later featured for German Under 21.
Ending with Mohammed Salisu it is not that he is too difficult. Even though he is making it look like he is being chased by the nation. I feel he still needs time but he should try to decide now as the last round of matches will be in September and if he doesn’t play then when will he play. This is as Otto Addo will need to build his squad going into the World Cup. But everything depends on the coach if he says he needs him.
