Check out the 3 goalkeepers nominated for the 2022 Ghana Football Awards

Organizers of the Ghana Football Awards have nominated three goalkeepers to be honoured at the upcoming ceremony later this year.

One of Joojo Wallacott, Danlad Ibrahim and Iddrisu Abdulai will be named as winner of the award for their outstanding displays this season for their clubs in their respective leagues.

Wallacott, who plays in the English third tier league, has established himself as Ghana’s number one goalkeeper since making the breakthrough under former coach Milovan Rajevac having played a key role in seeing the Black Stars qualify for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar in November and December.

Danlad Ibrahim took over as Asante Kotoko’s number one goalkeeper after the exit of Razak Abalora to Moldovan side FC Sheriff Tiraspol in January.

The youngster has been impressive since as he helped Kotoko to win the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League, GPL title for the first time in eight years.

Abdulai Iddrisu holds the record for the most clean sheets in the ongoing GPL campaign and, his exploits has seen Bechem United advance to the grand finale of the FA Cup competition in Ghana where they will play defending champions Accra Hearts of Oak in the trophy game later this month.

The winner of the award will be announced at the ceremony later as the organizers reward the outstanding performances of footballers who have distinguished themselves in this calendar year.
