A woman called Priscilla in an interview reveals why she decided not to allow her daughter to date her boyfriend. According to the woman, her daughter named Maame Yaa was in her second year in Junior high school when she started dating a young guy staying in their neighbourhood. She didn’t support her daughter’s relationship because she wants her to get a better future. She told her daughter that she will not allow her to date her boyfriend but she should focus on her education.
Priscilla said she went to the young guy’s parents to tell them to advise their son so that he will stay away from her daughter two consecutive times. But his mother insulted her for telling her to advise her son. The woman said she tried all that she can to let her daughter quit her relationship but she didn’t listen to her. One day, her daughter’s headmaster invite her to the school, the woman said she was informed that her daughter is pregnant.
Priscilla again said she became sad and cried the whole day because has good plans for her daughter. The woman claimed that her daughter was in her final year when she got pregnant but she advised her to try and continue going to school till she writes her final exams. The young girl was able to write the final exams with the pregnancy. Priscilla again said she helped her daughter to further her education to Senior high school after she gave birth but when she got to her second year, she again got pregnant with the same guy.
Priscilla said this time too her daughter mustered courage and went back to school after she gave birth. The woman again said what worried her much is that the young guy doesn’t take care of the two children. According to the young girl, her mother sacked her from the house when she got pregnant again, she then went to stay with her boyfriend but he used to beat her without offending him. Now she has realized that he will not help her in life so she has decised not to continue with their relationship.
