Following the disturbances in the Islamic Senior High School today, the Inspector General of Police, Dr. Akuffo Dampare George has removed the DCOP Mr. Akwesi Akomeah Apraku and two other officers.
The riot in the Islamic Senior High School saw the IGP and a team stormed the Ashanti capital, Kumasi, to have a first-hand information about the incident.
Earlier in the day, the student protested on their premises to register their frustrations on the frequent accidents occurring in front of the school.
In a communique issued on the Facebook page of the security service, they seek to outline the basis for which the decision to remove Mr. Akwesi Akomeah Apraku, who was acting as the regional commander in the Region.
It further detailed the other two officers who were also interdicted.
They are the ACP/Mr. George Ankomah, the Regional Operations Officer and ACP/Mr. Alex Cudjoe Acquah, the Suame Divisional Police Commander.
They’re to help investigate the incident.
