Ghanaian International, Enock Kofi Adu has opened up on his disappointment with the senior national team, The Black Stars.
Speaking on Gold Talk Sport with Adamu Muftawu, Adu, lamented on countless dejections he has faced from the handlers of the team. “I feel disappointed and rejected sometimes, It really gets to me. As a footballer, when you feel you’ve been at your best level and anticipates a deserving nation’s call for games you believe can help better than the way it’s going than the usual way with your ability, but don’t.
There’s always a huge disappointment you get bothered with. With why I’m not called to play in the national team, I can’t really tell”, he lamented. Adu, further noted that with the exit of certain players in the team, it could have created an opportunity for a call up with the national team, but still feels the same disappointment.
“Essien and Muntari were my seniors but at a point in time, they faded out of the Black Stars and I am still playing and still in the game but sometimes you the footballer feels dejected and highly disappointed”. Adu, however acknowledged an open desire to see his return in the national team after one international game in six years. “I wouldn’t be surprised if I get an invitation. This is because of the way I am always preparing myself, it’d be more interesting for me to come and display the best in me”, he concluded.
