TSV Hartberg Forward, has lamented on his disappointment on his international call-up into the senior national team, The Black Stars.
Painstil, who featured in 20 games with 6goals and 3 assists for the Austrian Bundesliga side lashed out his frustration on the technical handlers of the national team for closing the door on his invitation. “It hard because if you know you are a good player and you don’t get called. You don’t have any good answer to why. It was disappointing and kinda of hard. Every player in Ghana aims to play for the Black Stars. But where they scout the players and how they scout the players, I don’t know. In Austria, there’s no even one player playing for the national team now.
Maybe they don’t know me. If they check or they don’t check, for this I don’t really know about. I’m the kind of player who doesn’t give up so no I’ve never given up on Black Stars”, he narrated his ordeal. Paintsil, ostensibly, downplayed opinions against the level of the Austrian Bundesliga and acknowledged the strength of the league in comparison to other leagues in the world. “In Austria, it’s similar to the German Bundesliga but of course German Bundesliga is more higher but the Austrian league is also really high compared to other leagues. Imagine like I play in the Austrian league and some players in the Chinese league, you cannot compare the levels.
I don’t know how they see the Austrian league”, he stressed. For other players who have relaunched their career in the local league, Painstil relinquishes a reunification to his former side prior to retirement. “When I left BA United, everything changed and went down to division one. I played few games, in the premier then before I travelled outside. That’s really hard but I think I’ll join BA United to bring them back to the premier league before I retire”, he reiterated
