Attram-DeVisser Football Club CEO, Godwin Attram has emphasized on the call for data building on players for the senior national team from the lower league competitions across the country.
The former Ghanaian international, Attram, acknowledges that for Local Black Stars players to gain promotion to the senior national team, proper data buildup must be set in place to recruit players from the lower leagues, hence better development.“I have watched a lot of Division one matches even division two. And this is the local Black Stars that we are talking about. There are so many players who got the category, they have scored so many goals in the league and we can’t just call the top scorer and the second”. Attram, noted some players in the ongoing Division One League who could have made the list for the CHAN Squad and advocates for players in the lower divisions for recognition in the national teams.
“We have Osae Bernardinho, playing the league and everyone has seen in the league that he is one of the best strikers in the league. We have Emmanuel Cudjoe also playing the league and has already played in Meteors Squad 2/3years ago. If such players are still in the leagues, meaning they are national asset. All these players must be in the team. Because we are talking about the local Black Stars that we have to groom and bring them to the top.
If we have such players playing in the league, we must give them the opportunity. If we do not regard the division one, then we are trying to say we are not motivating the players. I think the coach of the Local Black Stars should set his scout people very well on data building on the players because we have good players in Division one even division two”.
