The inclusion of local based players in the national team, the Black Stars of Ghana has brought numerous issues that Ghanaians cannot even stop talking about. In some years back, these local players were not even called into the Black Stars but currently things are changing.
But when these local players are invited to join the national team for friendly games or major tournaments, they hardly get the opportunity to make their debut. And this what what one of Ghana’s finest player Charles Taylor has been talking about for some time now.
Just this afternoon on Angel TV the ex Kumasi Asante Kotoko forward boldly declared that, Hearts of Oak winger and striker Daniel Afriyie Barnie is more skilful than the current Black Stars’ striker Felix Afena-Gyan.
This claim proclaimed by the ex Ghanaian international is in relation to the fact that, these local based players are not given any chance to show what they are capable of doing on the field.
His plea in the studio this afternoon was that, the current coach should offer opportunities for these local players after they are called to join the Black Stars.
He made these comments after Ghana Black Stars defeated Madagascar in a 3-0 score at the Cape Coast stadium.
