According to Lawyer Amaliba , he has overflocked the matter on Achimota Forest saga and so he gave his time to Lawyer Appiah Kubi who did not spare the issue at stage even though he belongs to the ruling government,National Patriotic Party. Lawyer Amaliba had pointed out that he does not think the office of the Special Prosecutor has any authority to prosecute the late Sir John because he is already deceased. He added that a committee of enquiry would have been a suitable one for that feat.
Lawyer Appiah Kubi has said that even though the Office of Special Prosecutor has requested to probe the Achimota Forest Enclave saga, Ghanaians should pray for the OSP to be able to do the work. When Kwame Jantuah asked him to apologize because he belongs to the ruling government, he mentioned that he is not speaking for the New Patriotic Party but for himself and he does not encourage the politicisation of such an issue .
During the discussions, Lawyer Appiah Kubi mentioned that ,in issues such as the Achimota Forest saga, the interest of the public should overide all interests and as such , the only resolution should be provision of compensation and not provision of lands . As he was making this point , National Democratic Party’s legal team member Lawyer Amaliba said he supports the NPP man on that .
In the entire discussion , there seemed to have been total understanding by the panel members as all three believed that the ruling government erred in releasing lands instead of compensating .
On the other hand , Lawyer Appiah Kubi mentioned that he has even been informed that the Owoo family were already provided satisfactory payment by the colonial government and also knows that there was a past ruling that stated that the Owoo Family were more beneficiaries of the Achimota Forest reserves .
