As a reminder, Gambo was awarded the Unsung Act of the year at the VGMAs. He was nominated alongside talented young stars like Shugalord, Bryan The Mensah, Vanilla, Rcee, Chief One, Ama Nova, Roy X Taylor, Nautyca, and King Maaga.
Some Ghanaians on social media meted his win with mixed reactions as they claim Gambo’s win was ill-motivated by some means because he did not deserve to win in that category. Well, this is because most of them presume the rapper has no hit song to boast of to the extent of him winning an award for it.
In reaction to their sentiments, Gambo has intimated that one does not need a hit song before becoming a superstar. He explained that being a superstar entails how one is able to trend in the headlines, hence he’s a superstar.
He wrote; Who needs a hit song when you’re a SUPERSTAR everybody wanna see you in the news excited to know what you up to. Hi I’m GAMBO & I’m a SUPERSTAR
