In Ghana, the unemployment rate is far higher than some of our neighboring countries.
There are many Ghanaian owned companies Zoomlion owned by Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyapong, Tobinco Group of Companies owned by Mr. Samuel Amo Tobin, Despite Group owned by Dr. Osei Kwame Despite and McDan Group of Companies owned by Dr. Daniel Nii McKorley. The question is how many of these owners can sleep when their employees are fully working for them with no supervision or checks. Are they comfortable when they have only Ghanaian employees or they prefer to employ foreigners.

Whether these greedy thieves are paid well or not, it is a culture that the Ghanaian people must fight. Corruption must end by a collaborative effort of all ordinary citizens in the country and this starts from the mindset although we expect the government to campaign against corruption, bribery, extortion and thievery.
On a local radio station in Accra, a Ghanaian Chief Executive Officer called to vent out his spleen. According to the CEO, he worked outside Ghana for many years and eventually decided to settle in Ghana to contribute to the foreign direct investment of the country. According to the CEO, he employed only Ghanaians but realized two years after establishing the firm, the revenues were shooting up but his bank balance kept shooting downwards and forty percent of his machines got missing, his inventory got finished and even some of his office equipment was no where to be found. He later secretly installed CCTV cameras on a holiday and monitored unfolding events.
According to the CEO, he was shocked that he caught his General manager on CCTV conniving with the Accountants, other staff and security guards to steal from the Company and after he requested an audit, it was revealed that the signatories withdrew the monies for unofficial purposes and without proper documentations. The CEO exclaimed how disappointed he became and so shamefully closed down the .
He asked why Ghanaians so not steal when they work abroad but stole from him indiscriminately. He said that he has not recovered from the shock and can still not believe how wicked some people could be despite the fat salaries and bonuses that he paid his workers.

In fact, how can Ghanaian employees bring down our own businesses whilst we travel to work so hard on some one else’s land? Is this not shameful?
