Bernard Okoe Boye, CEO of the National Health Insurance Scheme and former Deputy Minister of Health has sent a feisty warning to John Mahama to stop portraying himself as the savior for Ghana’s economic woes. Appearing on Good Moring Ghana today, Thursday, May 5, 2022, Okoe Boye noted that John Mahama has nothing to offer and cautioned Ghanaians that it will be dangerous to give John Mahama another term.
Okoe Boye was reacting to John Mahama’s Ghana at crossroads presentation. According to him, John Mahama is desperate for power and thus will say anything. John Mahama in his presentation wondered why government chose to collapse certain banks when they could have injected monies and stabilized the banks. According to Okoe Boye however, injecting monies would have still not helped. He cited how John Mahama took from the national purse and gave to Capital Bank to resuscitate the bank and yet the latter took the money and embezzled it.
Okoe Boye noted that some situations deserve bold actions, something John Mahama was not ready to do. He called on John Mahama to explain what happened to the monies he gave to Capital Bank. Okoe Boye reminded Mahama that he has been at the Jubilee House before and messed things up and so shouldn’t expect Ghanaians to vote him back into office.
