Meet A Man with Spinal cod Injury With Fame On Tik Tok.

Eight years ago, Brian Muchiri together with four of his friends were hit by a truck on their way home from Nakuru at night. Three of his friends died at the spot while Brian suffered a spinal cod injury. His spinal cod broke in two different places causing C5 and C7 spine injury that left him paralysed on one side.

He was in third year at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology studying purchasing and supplies at the age of 19 years. Brian is currently 27 years old lives with his parents, grandparents and Uncle in Mangu village, Nakuru county.

He is a writer, storyteller, disability activist and creator. He writes blogs and had previously written for Love Matters Africa and does consultancy work from different organisations that are involved in inclusion, Equity and Empowerment of the disability community.

Muchiri has amassed a huge followers on social media especially in Tik Tok where he has over 105, 000 followers because of his ‘humorous’ side and fun spirit. Speaking on Nation News, he stated that, inspiration for making Tik Tok videos comes from his passion to educate people, as well as to show them the different side of disability that they might not be knowing.

Muchiri notes that, his parents have been his greatest supporters in every sense of word. They have been his primary caregivers and have always offered support throughout his career and in every aspect of life. Muchiri said that challenges come from all sides with most of them emanating from inside us. He wants to pursue personal development, learn new challenges and reach a level where disabled people have never been in.

“I keep discovering and reinventing myself and that in itself is motivation enough.” Brian concluded.
