When it comes to police, they are one group of people who are expected to be perfect at their job, although they say no one is perfect. But recently, it seems like South African police are being an embarrassment to the country. Police duty is to protect people and ensure that there’s peace among people, but we always see them as the ones doing crimes and illegal acts. All of this demonstrates that police officers are no longer expected to be as professional as they once were.
Just a week ago, there was a trending story of a policeman who was found in the streets very drunk in a way that he could barely stand up. There have been so many videos of police who were found doing things that embarrass the whole police force. In my opinion, I believe that the reason why, nowadays, police seem unprofessional is that they are employed through corruption, so they didn’t get enough trade.
Just when we thought we had seen it all, another police officer left us in stitches after people noticed something improper in her photo. This police officer went shopping while wearing a work uniform, looking like she was just coming from work. People were left in stitches after they noticed that she didn’t put the hun in the proper way. Instead of the hun pointing down, hers pointed up. It is evident that this officer didn’t get training because if she did, she would never make a mistake with a gun. See her photo below. Indeed,
wonders shall never end. It is very embarrassing, not only to those police officers, but to the whole department as a whole. How can a person who went to training fail to properly place the gun in its pocket? After this photo was posted on social media, people were very disappointed in this officer. She was laughed at and criticised for this. Some even went on to say this is the effect of getting jobs through connections. See some of the comments below:

Honestly, we are living in a world of survival of the fittest. People are getting employed without qualification. This is one of the results of hiring people because you know them. Our society is no longer safe. If a person doesn’t know how to properly place a hun, it is evident that she doesn’t know how to use it either. The government must consider going around asking every employee to show their qualifications.
