Education is one of the most expensive things in the world, so much so that many students in the country cannot afford to go to universities of colleges after they pass matric.
There are so many people who find themselves without funds to further their education after passing their matric. Majority of tertiary students in the country rely on bursaries from companies and student loans.
However, many people still can’t go to school because bursaries can’t fund every student in the country as they only select a few, and student loans are qualified for.
There are very few people who can afford to go to school self-funded. Tertiary fees are very expensive the rent money, books and the monthly food that a student needs while staying at school res. Most parents in South Africa do not afford such money and as a result many young people find themselves out of school.
This is the story of a young man, named @chaungeni1 on Twitter, He shared the heartbreaking story that he might find himself out of school because of financial difficulties.
He wrote: “I think is my turn to quite school and go back home💔💔💔
This is my end of the road with University of Free State”
He also shared a conversation between him and his landlord who demanded that he pays rent money or vacate the place. It looked like he has been late on rent and waited the atleast recieve his book allowance, but the landlord didn’t wan’t to hear it.
The landlord wanted rent money or for the student to move out.
