SA Covid-19 Statistics released on Sunday evening

The Covid-19 Statistics that were released by the National Institute for Communicable Diseases looked positive . This was due to the fact that there were decreases in terms of new cases as well as deaths related to the infection .

Information that was shared revealed that there were 18 766 Covid-19 tests that were carried out in private and public health institutions . It took the cumulative umber of tests conducted to 23 071 788 . The positivity rate was 6.7 % on Sunday evening . Still moving on , there were two people who lost their lives as a result of the pandemic . The number of fatalities therefore increased to 99 229 on Sunday . The good news however is that there are people who have managed to shake off the pandemic . There are 3 541 730 people who have managed to recover from Covid-19 since it was detected in 2020 .
