South Africans to start getting the HIV jab soon. Experts believe we should not waste any time.

South Africa has rate of HIV infections in the country. The number of people on ARV is alarming costing the government billions of rands.

The large number of people who are HIV positive are women. This might also not be accurate because men do not usually go for voluntary testing.

Scientists have found a drug that can prevent HIV. The pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has been approved as a pill in America. The pills must be taken orally on a daily basis.

Scientists have now turned this in to a jab that can be taken once in two months. Experts believe South Africa should move with haste and make the jab to the citizens.

government heed the advice of experts, South Africans could start getting the jab very soon. This will be quite a game changer in a country where teenage pregnancy is high.

Once approved citizens can approach any medical facility and get the jab.
