Death is one of the most devastating experiences in life that a family can go through. When a life ends, there is no bringing it back, and the only thing left are the memories they created while alive with their loved ones.
And when an individual dies, especially in the African context, their body might not function anymore, but their spirit is believed to be. This is why we refer to those who have lied and died as ancestors. They are the ones believed to watch over us spiritually and protect us from anything that affects us in our spiritual lives and physical lives. So, respecting death is very important, and this includes handling their bodies with care, even if they are no longer alive, so that they can be laid to rest with dignity.
When a person dies, they are taken to the funeral parlour that the family has chosen. At that parlour, their bodies are supposed to be looked after until the family comes to collect them for burial. But what do you do when you go to check on the body of your family member and you find the most important part of their body missing? ..This is what happened to a family that went to a parlour in Daveyton, South Africa.
According to the family, they were going to collect their nephew from a mortuary. The nephew, who lost his life on February 16, was taken to the mortuary. When they arrived there, they were shocked to see that his private parts were cut off, and the people who work there claim they don’t know what happened. The family confronted the people who work at the mortuary. Some people believe that it might have been taken and used for bad things.
