It is very clear that the South African government is failing pupils who attend public schools in most places in the country, especially in rural areas, there are still many schools that don’t have the proper infrastructure or facilities, and these pupils from a high school in the Eastern Cape were clearly fed up with the government’s lack of service delivery.
According to reports, these pupils protested the government’s lack of service delivery by sitting in the middle of a busy high way, and reading their books..
“Pupils near Alice, EC, block highway as they demand school infrastructure. For hours they sat &studied there.
ANC is useless & embarrassing.”
As you can imagine, this story received a lot of attention after this picture was posted on Twitter yesterday (Wednesday 23 February) , and it is clear that most people are blaming the ruling party (ANC)…
“They must tell their parents to stop voting for the ANC.”
“Their parents will again vote for the ANC in 2024, people from the Eastern Cape never cease to amaze me.”
“Their parents are the biggest ANC supporters this is genuine democracy, they’re getting fruits of their parents unfortunately”
