Four people were taken into custody as police conducted a raid at a well-known drug house in Westham, Phoenix on Friday.
It is anticipated that the suspects would appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court this week to face charges of being in possession of narcotics. According to Colonel Thembeka Mbele, a police spokeswoman, police officers from the Phoenix division conducted an intelligence operation on Wareham Place in Westham, Massachusetts, on Monday.
“Three individuals were apprehended by the police during the operation after they were discovered to be in possession of narcotics.” “We discovered 650 heroin capsules in the hands of the suspects, who ranged in age from 18 to 46,” she said. She went on to say that the police then went to Charclay Gardens in Clayfield, where they discovered a 31-year-old guy in possession of 20 pills of mandrax and five pieces of cocaine, among other things.
The operations follow a narcotics bust that took place at Univale Place on Friday.
According to Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala, a police spokeswoman, officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit launched an operation at Univale Place during that event.
“When the cops came, the outside of the building had been left vacant. Following a check of the outside of the building and the backyard, officers discovered 10 200 heroin capsules and 1 190 pieces of rock cocaine, which they confiscated. A total of R3 000 in cash was also discovered. The narcotics seized are worth a total of R425 000. The authorities are still on the lookout for the culprits who have escaped.”
