EFF MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has weighed in on reports that former State Security Agency boss Arthur Fraser allegedly lied about having a degree from the University of London.
So Jacques Pauw wrote an article in City Press alleging that Fraser had lied when he “claimed for many years to hold a graduate degree from one of the most prestigious higher learning institutions in the world: the University of London”, thereafter fires had to be put out as now the public is aware.
How did this happen? I believe that there are only two options here, two was that this could have gone. The first one is that the agencies knew of this, and needed him to work as one would look out for a homeboy. This would mean, of cause, that the right person for the position is out there in the cold unemployed. Secondly, I believe that this could be that we have security agencies that work on trust, and don’t actually investigate details. This is dangerous, as we saw with the riots because this means that the people responsible for intelligence, in my view, lack it.
Fraser, the man in question, responded through his lawyer In a statement issued rubbishing the claims that he ever said that he had the qualifications.
The interesting thing that I see amongst politicians of late, is that their defense is always to say that what is being said is rubbish and that they have no knowledge of what is being said. Unfortunately for them, such things that they ‘know nothing about,’ were documented and the internet never forgets.
