The department of basic education is embarking on an ambitious journey of ensuring that everyone in the country has matric. They have invited all those who failed in 2021 or want to upgrade and those who did matric a long time ago to come and register.
The closing date has been shifted a couple of times. The latest one was on the 18th of February. Those who missed the 18th February deadline still have a chance to register at various districts.
Usually registration starts at centers such as schools. The completed registration forms are then moved to circuits for verification. The circuits then pass them over to the district offices.
A good matric certificate can open doors for one jobs. Most companies require matric as a minimum qualification. You can also be accepted by various universities to further your studies.
Those who are out of options should consider this second chance provided by the department.
