KZN Authorities: New Tik Tok Challenge Causes This:

KwaZulu-Natal provincial education authorities have urged pupils to rather use their data for online educational material that can improve their schoolwork, rather than on TIk TOk challenges that breed negative results.

The pupils have been warned, by the authorities, not to take part in a viral TikTok #SchoolsChallenge that has seen learners climbing on building roofs and teachers’ vehicles.

It was in January when this questionable TikTok #SchoolsChallenge started as a #SchoolbagChallenge which saw learners using tripod pots, various household items, and supermarket trolleys to carry their schoolbooks. This first quite fun #ShcoolbagChallenge then spread to another hilarious and fun challenge where some children come to school dressed in their parent’s clothes. How the challenge came to be #SchoolsChallenge from something so innocent and fun, I cannot say.

However, it was at the beginning of February when the #SchoolsChallenge gained momentum and saw pupils now dancing on top of teachers’ vehicles and on top of school roofs to showcase their newly invented backpacks.

Seeing the many articles of schools falling apart physically calls for concern when pupils stand on these fragile roofs, in my opinion. it is no wonder that the authorities have really questioned the challenge and warned the pupils against this. Also, I don’t think anyone wants to go to work and then find that pupils were dancing on top of the car roof.

KwaZulu natal Education spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi is urging parents to work with the department in trying to stop this chaos and behavior as these challenges are dangerous, damage school property and cars, and take away the focus from schoolwork.

What are your thoughts? Please do share this article, especially with parents so that they can be warned to get their children to steer clear from such challenges. Do follow me for more interesting articles.
