Ghana suffered a painful elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup Tournament group stages in Qatar despite needing just a win or draw to confirm their qualification to the round of 16 of the tournament.
The Black Stars missed a crucial penalty and conceded two quick goals from Uruguay which all but confirmed their elimination from the tournament in the group stages for the second consecutive time.
The team that was headed by Coach Otto Addo has received several criticisms and backlash with most of them directed at the Ghana football Association for appointing a part time coach.
Otto Addo has since then resigned to take up his full-time role at Borussia Dortmund, leaving the Black Stars with a search for a permanent coach.
Speaking in an interview, Coach Karim Zito has advised the GFA to appoint an experienced coach. He said “Our players are young, so they need an experienced coach to guide these boys. They are young and want to do everything for themselves so it will be prudent to get a senior coach to guide them”.
