Some Reasons That Cause You To Lose Your Hair

There are so many reasons that cause your hair to fall out. One major cause of excessive hair loss is stress.

Although hair fall might be a natural process, excessive loss of it can be alarming. Experts believe that sudden hair loss that starts with one or more circular bald patches that may overlap is alopecia.

Hair loss can occur in one patch of the scalp, but there are times when there is thinning of hair first, and gradually there is an excess loss of hair throughout the scalp. Usually, it affects the scalp but it affects the eyebrows in extreme conditions.

Here are other causes of hair loss;

If your diet does not have adequate nutrients, it can cause your hair to fall out.

If you have low vitamin D3, B, B12, iron or ferritin levels, it can cause your hair to fall out. Diseases like PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease), typhoid, dengue, malaria and Covid are also related to hair loss.

Furthermore, conditions of the scalp, such as fungal infection, excessive sebum in the scalp like psoriasis, DLE (Discoid Lupus Erythematosus), and atopic dermatitis, can cause hair loss.

Certain medications, such as contraception, can also lead to hair loss.

Mood disorders can also cause hair fall in certain people.

Lastly, if you have a habit of shampooing once a week, it may cause your hair to fall out. Our hair generally releases some natural sebum, a natural oil production. When combined with sweat or dirt, it leads to dandruff and an oily scalp. Dandruff keeps increasing when dirt or sebum remains on the scalp, causing your hair to fall. It is, therefore, crucial to have your scalp cleaned regularly to avoid excessive hair fall.
