Check How Afriyie Barnieh Made Hearts of Oak Proud

Accra Hearts of Oak’s image has been boosted by the overwhelming performance of their star man.

The Phobians produced a number of national team players for a long time now and that has come on to help nation for years now.

The likes of former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, Amankwa Mireku, Jacob Nettey, Sammy Adjei, Anthony Annan, Laryea Kingston just to mention a few all played for Hearts of Oak.

The Phobians had 10 players selected for the national team in 2001 against a star studded Super Eagles of Nigeria under the late Jones Attuquayefio.

The selected side managed to hold the Super Eagles of Nigeria who then had Taribo West, Nwakwo Kanu and the likes to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in a World Cup qualifiers.

One of the latest kids on the block is Daniel Afriyie Barnieh who has been selected by Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Barnieh enjoyed a better game time in the Black Stars final international friendly against Switzerland at the Zayed Sports Complex.

The Black Stars courtesy Salisu Mohammed and Antoine Semenyo gave Ghana a 2-0 victory to boost their confidence ahead of the World Cup.
