Sarkodie has shared a glimpse of the expenses he made on the music video for the song Labadi, off his new studio album, Jamz.
In an interview with 3Music TV, Sarkodie claimed that he spent a considerable sum of money getting the team from Accra to Greece because he wanted the video to show the opulent lifestyle of a cruise.
“I think I put way too much into my craft, especially my finances. It’s extremely high,” he noted, while explaining that his music is the major way he sells his brand.
He claims that he invested roughly $150,000 in the Labadi music video, which went toward his crew, production costs, and other costs he did not want to skimp on.

He explained that he had flown his three models from the US and the UK, notably London, and that he had arranged lodging for them in a villa that cost €30,000, or €6,000 per day for the five days they were there.
Sarkodie further disclosed that, because he is thoughtful about the look and feel of his song, he hired a special chef and lavishly paid his staff.

Sarkodie, though, believes it was money well spent since he sees it as a long-term investment that would ultimately pay off for him.
