Ghanaians Throng Ministry of Agric To Purchase Cheap “Korkor” For 5gh

Following the proclamation by the Agriculture minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto that Ghana has surplus plantain and that a heap costs as low as five Ghanaian cedis, he received negative backlashes from the general public.

Surprisingly, he announced Ghanaians could purchase the cheap locally known “Korkor” at the Ministry of Agriculture from today. Interestingly, plantains were harvested from the Planting for Food and Jobs Project and are going for cool prices at the Ministry from as low as 5gh such that everyone can afford.

However, some Ghanaians still have a problem with the initiative as they claim the ingredients needed to complete the fufu process are still on a higher price, talk of the “aponkye” (goat meat), the onions and tomatoes needed for a sumptuous fufu party are still at higher prices. “But the Minister has forgotten about the goat meat and onions for the accompanying light soup”, they said.
