Veteran Ghana coach, Bashir Hayford says the likes of Hearts of Oak forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh cannot be ignored for the 2022 FIFA World Cup if they have form.
Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has left the public on tenterhooks having not released his provisional squad for the tournament.
Barnieh and Kotoko goalkeeper, Danlad Ibrahim have been tipped to make the final squad for Qatar in November and Bashir Hayford shares in that opinion.
“If you see that Afriyie Barnieh and those who are mentioned their current form is better than those who you are inviting for that position, why not.
“Remember it’s not about only the form, if you have the form and your position has been taken by somebody who is better than you though you have the form, [so be it].
“But if you have the form and you are better than the one there, why not.” Bashir Hayford told Radio Gold Talk Sport.
Bashir Hayford once coached clubs sides, Asante Kotoko, Medeama, Dwarfs and Hearts of Lions with the U-17 Ghana and Somalia male team on his curriculum vitae.
