Kalyjay Subtly Jabs President Akufo-Addo

Ghana’s biggest social media influencer Joshua Buernortey Boye-Doe better known on social media as Kalyjay has jabbed President Akufo-Addo over the depreciating cedi.

Kalyjay who is credited with spearheading the popular Fix The Country campaign has in a few words asked the president to resign.

He posted a news headline from Ghana web reminding the president when he said if he were President Atta Mills and Mahama he would resign when the cedi was falling during their era of governance. Kalyjay posted the screenshot and captioned it “if ibi easy”.

Kalyjay’s mantra has always been “if ibi easy,… Do am”. By that, he is telling the president to go by his own logic and resign since the cedi is performing worse now than it did during Late President Mills’ time when he (Akufo-Addo) called for Atta Mills’ resignation.

President Akufo-Addo also in 2016 said that “the current depreciation of the Ghana cedis against the US dollar is because of BAD leadership. We should not be where we are today to buy [a] dollar for 3.72 [cedis]. Vote for change”.

Today, the Ghana Cedi has depreciated so much that the dollar is being sold at 15.2 cedis. Thus, some Ghanaians are attributing it to bad leadership and expect the president to have at least fired Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta by now.
