Ashantis Send Another Photo-Message To The President And The NPP Party

The ongoing ‘face off’ between the people of the Ashanti Region and the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, is gradually escalating into a ‘party war’, between the Ashanti youth and the NPP party.

Following the recent incident in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, where some traders were seen hooting at President Nana Addo and his convoy; some alleged Ashanti youth has also sent a message in the form of an image, to the NPP party and the Nana Addo-Bawumia government as a whole.

In these last two years remaining for the Nana Addo-Bawumia NPP government, president Nana Addo and his convoy, have been disgraced publicly by citizens, for at least three times in three different regions, (all considered NPP’s stronghold regions).

To hoot at some one simply means to blow horn or to make shouts of disapproval at someone. Some people hoot in attempts to drive someone away from their sight.

First; the president was disgraced (hooted), at the black Stars Square in Accra, during the 2022 Global Citizen Festival, second in Kumasi whiles on his way to the Kumasi Central Market in the Ashanti Region; then thirdly at Akyim Akroso in the Eastern Region. In all these incidence, the president was hooted at by people who once had trust in him.

To add to the ‘hooting punishment’, some alleged Ashanti youth, have declared a ‘two-year payback war’ against the Nana Addo-led NPP government. According them, for failing them; and betraying their trust in the Ashanti Region, the remaining two years remaining for the NPP party led by Nana Addo and Bawumia, will suffer ‘paybacks’ from the Ashanti Region.

These alleged Ashanti youth have described the President as a ‘Sadist’…a person who enjoys inflicting pain on others. According to them, President Nana Addo gets pleasure in the pains and hardship facing Ghanaians, and careless.

In their Photo messages sent to Nana Addo’s NPP government, the images shows human hands displaying two fingers, also called the ‘V’ sign. In the normal meaning, the display the two fingers; or the ‘V’ sign means peace and victory.

In some other meaning; the ‘V’ finger symbolizes ‘mockery’. This interpretation goes as far back 1337-1453, in the Middle Ages, when the British soldiers fought in a Hundred Year of War.

It is revealed that, the British bowmen showed two fingers to the French bowmen as a sign of mockery. According to historians, “This is because the French used to cut off two fingers (three according to some historians), so that the bowmen could not use their arches to fight the French any longer. The British used to show their index and middle fingers to show they still had their two fingers intact”.

Using the above mentioned context to explain the two fingers displayed in the photo-message sent to the president, by these alleged Ashanti youth, we can comfortably say; that they are sending a message of mockery to the president and his government.

Again; because the Nana Addo led NPP government have only two years left to end their 8 years term in office, the youth have revealed that, they ‘are all set’, to turn the Nana Addo Bawumia’s remaining two years, into real disgraceful moments, just as they run the entire nation into 8 years of pain and grieve.
