Former Deputy Attorney General Joseph Dindiok Kpemka has extoled the competence of Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, saying he exudes exceptional leadership talent which will benefit Ghana if he is given the nod to become president of the country.
He says Dr Bawumia has carried himself creditably and proven himself worthy of succeeding President Akufo-Addo as the Head of State of the Republic of Ghana.
Owing to the above stated reasons, Mr Kpemka says he is throwing his weight behind Dr Bawumia’s bid to become the presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Kicking against Dr Bawumia;s candidature, he says, will amount to political suicide for the NPP and its chances in the forthcoming presidential elections.
“What is the basis for me not to support Bawumia? What is the basis on this earth? It will amount to political suicide if I decide not to support him.
“In fact, ii support him [Bawumia] more than 100%. I’m not supporting Bawumia because he is my brother and I’m not supporting him because he is a Northerner.
“’I’m supporting him because he is an exceptional talent that I want to see become President and exude his knowledge on this particular country and we will see the outcome,” he said.
Speaking on Bolgatanga-based Dreamz FM, on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, Mr Kpemka says although Dr Bawumia has achieved a lot as Vice President ascending to the presidency will give him a bigger opportunity to do more for the people of Ghana.
“He is not the President of Ghana but Vice President. There is a world of difference between President and Vice President. If you are in charge and answerable to no one, you are able to do what you want to do. If you’re not and you are under someone, you are limited”, he added.
