The Western regional minister who doubles as a member of parliament, Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko has said that he is fit and well after GhOne television reported that he has collapsed after his driver bolted with his money.
In statement released and signed by the Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, his attention was been drawn the the reports this morning by the GhOne television which reported the news about a regional minister who has collapsed after his driver bolted with 17 million Ghana cedis Galamsey money.
The minister said in the statement that such report appears to cast innuendo on his personality and bent on tarnishing his hard earned reputation in the country and Western region.
“This news alert appears to cast an innuendo on my person. It is therefore not strange that for those who are still bent on tarnishing my hard-won reputation and to distract me from executing my official duties in service to the people of my region my unrelenting fight against illegal mining in the region, they have jumped onto this news alert to further their sinister objectives” part of the statement read
He added that he is well and fit and carrying about his duties as a minister and MP in good health and great spirit. He said all meaning Ghanaians should disregard the report of his collapse and treat it with contempt. He further threatened appropriate remedial steps under his lawyers advice.
