Black Sherif’s remarkable artistry continues to draw rave reviews everywhere and the latest person to acknowledge his talent is Nigerian finest rapper MI Abaga.
Having reviewed Sherif’s song, Soja- taken off his debut album The Villain I Never Was, MI Abaga took to Twitter to write simply, ‘Wow.’

When MI Abaga returned to Nigeria in 2003 from America, he started his singing career. He rapidly started making mixtapes with his friend Djinee after finding his niche in a field dominated by people like Modenine, Ruggedman, and Eedris Abdulkareem.

This produced the critically acclaimed tune “Safe,” in which he mimicked songs by prominent Nigerian artists. MTV Vibe and other African radio stations also gave the song significant airplay.
He received recognition for the song at several events, including the Nigerian Video Awards, City People, and N.E.A.

The excitement around the release of Safe resulted in praise for his debut studio album, Talk About It, which was given an 8.5/10 by 360nobs’ Oye Akideinde.
His first mixtape, Pyeriboy, won Musician of the Year at the 2008 Modemen Awards and Best Hip Hop Artist at the City People Awards. He subsequently issued a sample mixtape titled Illegal in 2009. Illegal II, which was released in 2012, followed the first mixtape.
