Absolute accountability needed to remedy systemic problems – Mahama

Mr Mahama was speaking at the Liberty University in the US

Former President John Dramani Mahama has called for absolute accountability to be rendered by African governments and all state institutions.

In his view, this is one of the surest ways of curing the systemic problems that affect Africans.

Absolute accountability, not just by government but by the institutions of state in service to the people and not themselves, will go a long way to remedy many of the systemic problems that affect our African people,” Mr Mahama tweeted after his presentation at the Liberty University Convocation in the United States.

He also indicated that Africans need ethical and moral uprightness as guiding principles.

“In Africa, we need ethical and moral uprightness as guiding principles, and a stoic fidelity to the truth and to do right by our people above all other considerations,” he indicated.
