GES Begins Nationwide Distribution Of New Curriculum Textbooks To Basic Schools

The long awaited government textbooks of the new curriculum for basic school (primary sector) has officially reached the various schools across the country.

The Ministry of Education in collaboration with Ghana Education Service has distributed the books to many Municipals and Districts across the country.

However not all the textbooks for all the subjects have been distributed. The management has only started distribution of Creative Arts, English and Science textbooks for the schools.

The ongoing distribution marks the first batch of textbooks that has been dispatched to the various schools.

The issue of text books became a subject of concern about three years ago when the school curriculum was changed without the accompanying books for teaching and learning.

Many teachers previously expressed dissatisfaction for the sluggish act of the Government and the Education Ministry in the delay of textbooks distribution.

From the teachers, the government and all other stakeholders involve should speed up the process to ensure that all the remaining textbooks for all the subjects are distributed nationwide to ease the stress teachers and learners go through during teaching and learning.

The distribution of the new text books, therefore, comes as a great relief for teachers and parents as well as the students.
