Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have come into agreement in the valuation for the permanent transfer of French International player Antoine Griezmann.
The player was signed by Barcelona in the summer of 2018 for a fee of 120 million euros after triggering his release clause.
The player returned on loan to Atletico Madrid last season after falling out of favour with the fans and the board of the club. The loan was due to expire this season with Atletico Madrid having a mandatory clause to purchase the player for 40 millions euros if he started 50 percent of matches for the club. In view of this clause, Atletico Madrid have only used the player as a substitute this season. This prompted Barcelona to negotiate the terms of the agreement.
Sources close to the club have revealed that an agreement has been found with a figure close to 20 million euros being the expected sum should Atletico Madrid agree to sign the player. Griezmann is also understood to lower his salary demands in order to finalize the deal. The player is reported to be on 800 thousand euros per week wages.
