The items which included Two Thousand (2,000) pieces each of pens, pencils, and mathematical sets were handed over to the GES officials by a 2020 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary aspirant in the Old Tafo Constituency, Dr. Louis Carol Serwaa Donkor.

The initiative by Dr. Serwaa Donkor who is a native of the Old Tafo Municipality is to equip students sitting for the 2022 BECE to help them improve their performance.

Dr. Serwaa Donkor before the gesture partnered with the Municipal Directorate of the GES and organized free extra classes for students from both public and private schools within the Municipality to academically equip them for the exams.

Her contribution was organizing free weekend classes for the students writing the exams. She knows also that very soon it will be time for BECE and has decided to provide Two thousand pieces of Mathematical sets. She has come to donate equipment to our younger ones and the items also include two thousand each piece of pens and pencils, all in the name of supporting our younger ones as they sit for their BECE. It is her hope and prayer that the younger ones pass out with flying colours. Dr. Serwaa is doing all these to complement the effort of the NPP Government in the education sector”.

The Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Old Tafo-Pankrono Municipality, Betty Drah commended Dr. Serwaa Donkor for the gesture and appealed for more support to equip schools in the area with computers to improve teaching and learning.
