Black Stars player retires from football ahead of world cup

Kwadwo Asamoah, a former Black Stars player, has announced his retirement from football.

The player who has played for major European clubs such as Juventus and Inter Milan began his career with the Italian Serie A club Udinese.

He rose through the ranks to become one of Ghana’s most decorated players to have played in Europe.

Kwadwo Asamoah was also named CAF’s Most Promising African Player in 2010 and was a member of the Black Stars team that traveled to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup.

He went on to make 74 appearances for the Black Stars, scoring four goals. The Ghanaian midfielder finished his career with Cagliari in Italy.

According to sources close to the player, the retirement is not a departure from the football fraternity; rather, Kwadwo Asamoah plans to work as a football agent to assist the industry’s young players.
